Trimline Style Vents
Trimline Vents provide angled louvers for directing air flow. These are most commonly used as air supply vents. This style vent can be found in floors, walls, and ceilngs.
Mounting Options for Trimline Vents
What style of vent works best for your application?
Floor Application
Insert Style: Easiest to install. The flange provides cover for any rough cut openings
Flush No Frame: Very clean, modern look. Will need clean cuts to install. Not always recommended for floor as expansion and contraction may make removal for cleaning difficult.
Flush With Frame: Great for floor application. We recommend having grills onsite prior to floor install so everything can be snugged up nicely.
Wall Application
Insert Style: Easiest to install. The flange provides cover for any rough cut openings as well as a place to mount screws.
Flush No Frame: Very clean, modern look. Install requires a bit more skill. Will either need to “frame out” opening from inside to provide nailing surface, secure J-Bead to vent for drywall installation, or hold in place with molding. Magnets are another option.
Flush With Frame: Not recommended for wall application, though we can make a “gut only” to custom fit any rabbet cuts you may have made.
Ceiling Application
Insert Style: Easiest to install. The flange provides cover for any rough cut openings as well as a place to mount screws.
Flush No Frame: Very clean, modern look. Install requires a bit more skill. Will either need to “frame out” opening from inside to provide nailing surface, secure J-Bead to vent for drywall installation, or hold in place with molding. Magnets are another option.
Flush With Frame: Not recommended for ceiling application, though we can make a “gut only” to custom fit any rabbet cuts you may have made.
WoodVent Free Air Flow
Wood Vents are more restrictive than metal air registers with the same duct size. This usually is not a problem, but we can always discuss any concerns you may have or special applications with our engineers.
For the Trimline style wood vents, there is a 60% reduction in free area caused by the vent louvers. This means a 10×10 duct will have 40 square inches of free area once a trimline vent is installed.
